Pie Five Pizza opens in Algonquin, ILL
By Amy Williams
A fast food pizza spot is now open along the Randall Road corridor.
Pie Five Pizza, known for its “fast-casual” pizza, recently opened at 776 S. Randall in Algonquin. It is in the strip center near the Target store, on the west side of Randall Road.
This is the fourth location of the Pie Five chain in the Chicago area. There are 50 Pie Five locations in 15 states throughout the country.
For those who don’t want to wait for pizza, it is a perfect option to get a handcrafted personal pizza quickly and made just the way you like it.
At the business, you can pick from 28 toppings to go on one of four different crusts — artisan thin, classic pan, whole grain Neapolitan and gluten-free. You also can choose from seven sauces to make your own custom pizza.
Once you’ve decided, your creation is ready in 145 seconds, after being baked in a special oven.
The cost for each pizza, no matter how you top it, is $6.99.
The business also serves freshly tossed salads in baked pizza dough bowls, home-baked brownies and cookie pies.
You can dine in the restaurant or take your creation to go.
“Pie Five is a family-friendly restaurant perfect for the Algonquin community,” said CEO Randy Gier. “Bringing the two together is a no-brainer.”
The company intends to give a portion of its proceeds back to the community.
To kick off its opening on June 12, the company donated 50 percent of proceeds to the Illinois Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
It has also partnered with other community organizations, including Algonquin Area Youth Baseball, park districts and Jacobs High School Boosters to give support.
The company plans to open 500 Pie Fives, either company owned, or franchise-owned in the next five years.
There are 10 more Pie Five locations planned for the Chicago area, which are expected to open this year.
Currently there are locations in Illinois in Algonquin, Schaumburg, Naperville and Skokie.
In addition, Pie Five locations are planned to open soon in Bloomingdale, Elmhurst, Glenview and Palatine.
